Question: I have received a bayonet as a gift but I do not know how to identify it. I believe it is russian from the characters on the blade but I am not sure. The numbers on the sheath and handle are 74977. It has a ball tip sheath and the handle is wood. Where can I get some basic information so I have a better understanding of its history?
